“To disrupt or be disrupted” that is the question. No one understands this better than DLL, the financial solutions partner with over 35 billion euros in assets. They were determined to be on the disruptive side of the equation. This, however, was going to require a major shift in mindset. So we designed a futures-readiness program for their top 300+ executives and co-created a new strategy at the same time.

The program was designed to reshape the company into one of disruptors: that is, people who wake up each morning ready to challenge the status quo and seek better ways to accomplish their company’s ambition. The resulting mind shift among 30% of the participants was fundamental enough for DLL’s CEO to declare the program the most significant and effective one they’d run in his 20-year tenure.

We’ve been collaborating with Coburn Ventures for many years helping them design collaborative processes. The programs we have co-designed with them merge futures thinking with investment processes and stimulate participants to generate breakthroughs and new ways of working to make sustainable investment the new standard of operating in the investment world.

Scale-up that operates in the metaverse

Odyssey is a digital native organization that strives to unlock the collaborative superpowers of people, organizations and communities by building open source 3D worlds for collaboration. As they were scaling up their organization that embraces the new possibilities of Web 3.0 they asked us to help them design a strategic plan for a new round of funding.

The program we designed for this allowed anyone in the world to collaborate with the core team on building a vision and strategy in an online format. Many of the key stakeholders were able to participate with the core team this way. The result was a detailed roadmap that leveraged the power of the collaborative and allowed them to execute their plans immediately, without having to explain to anyone what to do.

Family owned company for energy saving solutions

With a net revenue of about 300 million euros and more than 1800 employees, Breman is one of the biggest climate control installers in the Netherlands. It is their goal to create a positive energy world. This means that, starting in the Netherlands, they want to make 8 million homes in the Netherlands energy positive by 2030. What seems to be a daunting task is something that they are actively executing every day.

To accelerate this ambition, they founded an innovation company called BREiNN as a subsidiary of the Breman Group. We helped them build a vision and strategy and develop new ways of working that would allow this organization to transform the bigger group company from within. Within a few months we co-created this with them, allowing them to turn ideas on paper into an actual innovation firm located in an old factory building.

Singularity University was founded in Silicon Valley as a non-profit by Peter Diamandis and Ray Kurzweil in 2008. In 2016 the first international subsidiary in the Netherlands opened its doors in Eindhoven. At SingularityU future leaders are guided to create a lasting impact. The organization strives to help executives leverage the convergence of exponential technologies and set them on a path to solving the world’s most pressing issues by shifting from an era of scarcity to an era of abundance.

We’ve been a partner to SingularityU in Europe and have facilitated all of the executive programs that run in the Benelux. Over the years we’ve helped many companies together with SingularityU to embrace the possibilities exponential technologies have to offer. In custom programs we function as learning designers and lead facilitators ensuring that the organization’s goal matches the content Singularity has to offer and vice versa. This has led to realizing the most impactful in-company programs Singularity offers to their clients.

Eventbrite was founded in 2006 in San Francisco. The service allows users to browse, create, and promote local events. The service charges a fee to event organizers in exchange for online ticketing services, unless the event is free. With revenues nearing 300 million US dollars in 2018, we engaged with their board on developing a new data strategy for the organization.

During a two day strategy program we mapped possibilities and defined strategic goals meant to help the organization leverage the value of data insights for the purpose of creating new business opportunities. As part of our engagement, we provided the company with various mental models & tools and a framework through which they could organize their insights into a plan of action around three strategic horizons. This allowed them to activate their future vision in the company themselves without the necessity of us consulting with them on a permanent basis.
